How do I import a transparent background image from CS3 Photoshop into CS3 Dreamweaver?

Question by Trevor: How do I import a transparent background image from CS3 Photoshop into CS3 Dreamweaver?
Okay, I am designing a website for a shop I used to work at, and I created a logo with a transparent background. I am trying to figure out how to import it (while still retaining the transparent background) into a Dreamweaver site. Each time I try to do it, it shows a white background for the 250×250 logo on the site, but I want the background to be absolutely transparent. How can I do this? Thanks in advance!

I have tried doing this in MS Paint – because its own help states you can – but it never works.

What is a Seamless Texture / Pattern?
A seamless texture is an special image, where one side of a image exactly matches the opposite side, so that the edges blend into apiece other when repeated. Seamless textures are used for desktop wallpaper, webpage backgrounds, video games, Photoshop fills and in 3D rendering programs.

How did you make it?
This texture was prefabricated using software specially designed to aid in seamless texture creation. Some of the programs I use are Photoshop, Illustrator, Filter Forge, Genetica, Image Synth, Alien Skin, Topaz Labs, and even hand drawing.

Do any browsers NOT support transparent HTML/CSS?

Question by Questionnaire: Do any browsers NOT support transparent HTML/CSS?

transparent?
the css(3) standard attribute is opacity;
before of css3 (css2) browsers might have a different way to specify transparency. anyway, each good current browser implements part of css3 (still not fully supported, afaik) and should comprehend the opacity.
IE e.g. uses something like filter: filter(alpha=0.5) or something like that; mozilla had it’s extended attribute, like -moz-transparency or similar…
currently i am using opera which comprehends the css3 standard opacity.

Q&A: Anyone designed a DHTML/CSS cross-browser drop-down menu/nav bar with transparent background support yet?

Question by Ian S: Anyone designed a DHTML/CSS cross-browser drop-down menu/nav bar with transparent background support yet?
I’ve only found ones that work only in Firefox, or ones that work only in IE, or ones that are flash or Java (i.e. SEO-unfriendly). For an example of what I’m looking for, see http://www.epictrip.com/ (flash-based).

I’d like sub-menu support too.
I want one that supports transparent menu background, so I can see the website behind it. That is the key. None of the recommended menus so far do this.

Q&A: How do you make those live person video clips with the transparent backgrounds and add them to a website?

Question by dxnativebeauty: How do you make those live mortal video clips with the transparent backgrounds and add them to a website?
They are the same as the InPerson ads Rovion has, Amy Taylor has one and VirtuaGirl and I believe they are swflash files.

You’re right, the final product is a swf file.
First, the video has to be shot against a single-color background (bright blue or green generally). Then, you’ll need to edit everything together using flash and after effects. Here’s a great video on how to do it:

Finally, the swf file will need to be in an totally positioned div in order to appear as if it’s “over” any other part of the website.

If you don’t have After Effects and need a lower-cost solution try http://hughestech.com/transparent_video/

This is an update to the “Create a Transparent Background” video with GIMP. This one is a lot superior because GIMP is unstable and I like Paint.NET a lot better. It has more features and it has been called, by some, “free photoshop”. It contains layers and also a plug-in for brushes. It, however does not create a great custom brush for you. There are ways to go around that and I will be showing you how to do that in the next tutorial ^_^ I don’t have screen capturing software installed so I had to use my camera. I hope you guys still have an intent of what I’m trying to show you here 😛 If you have any questions please feel free to ask in the comments section to the left. I will be starting a Paint.NET series that will show you cool tricks you can do with the application. I’m still learning so I will be making videos along the way and sharing interesting tips with you guys 🙂 Here are two links to where you can download Paint.NET: CNET Link: download.cnet.com Paint.NET Website Link: www.getpaint.net The image I used in the video was from this site: en.sevenload.com Music: La noche tan bella by Ken Liu Please check out his page here: www.youtube.com If you like my videos, please subscribe and rate 🙂 My Art Channel: www.youtube.com Follow me on DailyBooth: dailybooth.com My Blog:jellybean83.wordpress.com My Deviantart Page: fullmetalpiglet.deviantart.com Follow me on twitter: twitter.com
