I am a Malaysian and interested to write an article for Associated Content and attained money from that. As far as I know, they do pay for the article submitted but I want to know whether they pay for US resident only or they pay for all people come over the world such as me from Malaysia?

No, only USA residents. They take advantage of people, because on their sign up page, they let anybody sign up from any country. But in the Help section, it states you can only get paid if you’re from USA. So they let people sign up from all around the world and submit articles, but then they don’t pay them and make money off their articles. Very dishonest.

I wrote an article for them, and I wanted to be paid for the views, not up front. I have only prefabricated .08 cents from my article in 3 months. I wrote a much smaller article for ehow.com and I make about $ 1.50 each month from that article. Ehow was just purchased by another company, so I don’t know if they are still accepting writers, or if they accept from Malaysia. But I stopped writing for them too. They are superior than Associated Content, but I realized that it is smarter to just make your own website and place Google Ads around the articles. After a few months of writing, your site will start to get more views and you can make money that way. If Google doesn’t accept you, then you can try Adbrite, or just move until you have lots of views and rent the space out to other online companies to place their banners there next to your articles.

UPDATE: Mystery solved… Apparently when Flickr hiccuped, my images became "locked" from search engines… Flickr fixed the problem–thanks dudes and dudettes!

I haven’t talked about it much, but because I comprehend how search engines work, I have used my titles, text, and tags to maximize the chance of my images being found on Flickr and other search engines. As you can see from the upper left screenshot, I was averaging 2500 visits/day. Only 150 of these were due to contacts; the rest were from search engine finds.

That panel also shows a significant decrease in my views/day occurring in August 22, down below 1000. That’s over a 50% drop.

As I’ve posted about this, people have said, basically, I don’t know what I’m speaking about. My guess was outside search engines and spammers were being blocked, and some agreed.

But the upper right panel shows one of my superior days before the change, and you can see that Flickr is the referrer for most of the visits.

The lower two panels show further evidence that there was a change specifically in Flickr’s search engine. My Bowl of Clouds photo has over 30,000 views, and you can see it went from 25-100 views per day to nearly nothing. The right panel shows also most of the references were from Flickr.

Now why does this photo make me believe there was a change in the search engine? Well, this is a good pic, but not even in the top 10 of my cloudshots… It’s because of the title. it turns out there is a toy doll set called "Blythe Cloud Nine Bowl", and as people searched for it, people found my shot and viewed it. Now when I do the same search words, this photo isn’t showing up.

So, my guess is, Flickr changed their search engine algorithm on Aug 22. The other two explanations… Flick’s hiccups have somehow impacted the search process… or somehow the search engine is penalizing me for uploading a massive number of photos this month. I uploaded about 200 photos from Comic Con around that same date, can’t see how that could make such a huge difference but you never know with black boxes…

Paid search or pay-per-click advertising (PPC) is the most significant category for US affiliates (48%), marginally ahead of true content (SEO) on 46% in terms of the amount of revenue they help to generate. Just under half of affiliates surveyed state that apiece of these methods is among the most important to them.

Blogs and forums are an important category for 40% of affiliates. Social networking (24%), cashback & reward (23%), email marketing (20%) and coupon codes (19%) are the next most important methods.
