Madame Tussauds Sydney, Australia: Captain Cook sails into Darling Harbour to track the Transit of Venus

Captain Cook sails into Darling Harbour to track the Transit of Venus…

Madame Tussauds Sydney enjoyed having Captain Cook get waxed at Sydney’s Madame Tussauds in Darling Harbour primeval this morning.

Captain Cook is one of many Australian icons to be announced as attractions to appear in the museum, which will eventually feature more than 70 wax figures.

He joins a massive contingent of Australian sportspeople, politicians and stars in the million tourist attraction.

Merlin Entertainment Australia director Edward Fuller isn’t revealing which other Australian stars have been selected for the local exhibition, but he has stated extensive research has been done to ensure the right mix of the famous and infamous.

"The key thing is that there will be a really strong line-up of local stars," Mr Fuller said.

A team of artists is working furiously to have the sculptures ready in time for the opening. Each wax model requires about 20 artists, from sculptors to painters, and can take up to six months to complete.

"The hair is all individually inserted into the head," Mr Fuller said, adding that capturing the "character and atmosphere" of the subject was the artists’ goal.

To assist in this, many of the celebrities immortalised by Madam Tussauds’ artists donate their own clothes to help create a sense of authenticity.

"That’s the freezing on the cake," Mr Fuller said.

"Not only can you get up close and individualized to your favourite star but they’re actually wearing the clothes they might have turned up to the Oscars in."

The Transit of Venus – when the planet Venus transits crossways the grappling of the sun – is a very rare occurrence that Captain saint Cook tracked from island in 1769, leading him to eventually map the whole East coast of Australia.

Since the phenomena was first recognized, there have only been six transits of Venus with the most current one occurring in 2004 and the one following June 6th 2012 to occur on 11th December 2117.

WHAT: Relive the adventure with Captain saint Cook who is returning to Sydney Harbour in a Red
Rocket for another viewing of the Transit of Venus, and the last for 105 years.

What are the detailed steps in creating graphic buttons for links to pages on the web?

Question by myalphabetsoupsays-oooooo: What are the detailed steps in creating graphic buttons for links to pages on the web?
I’m trying to create buttons for my website the lead to places like ‘home’ and ‘contact’. I want to know about what program to use, what resolution I should set the graphics to be, etc.

Best answer:

Answer by PayneLessDesigns.com
Just make your buttons using free online button makers like this one:

http://www.ogim.4u2ges.com/

Or freeware:

Button Maker v1.0 Freeware – http://www.inet2inet.com/InetSoftware/Button-Maker/ButtonMakerInfo.asp
Likno Web Button Maker FREE – http://www.likno.com/web-button-maker/freebuttons.html

Resolution should be consistent with web standards to keep loading times down. PNG format are popular, but IE doesn’t like them too much.

Web Content Café, a Website Focused on Web Content, Helps Writers Get Into The Habit of Creating New Content Pages Daily

Montreal, Canada (PRWEB) Might 7, 2010

Quality content is the lifeblood of nearly any website. The creation of more pages results in increased traffic from the search engines, and through social media. With nearly each online revenue model, a higher volume of visitors translates into a higher income for the site.

While some companies turn to content mills, and fill their sites with hundreds of low-quality pages created offshore, many site owners want to remain focused on high-quality content which they create themselves.

Their challenge is not writing the content – but coming up with fresh ideas and then publishing new pages on a regular basis.

Nick Usborne, author of Net Words (McGraw-Hill), has over a decade of experience as a leading online writer and copywriter for some of the world’s largest companies and organizations. But with WebContentCafe.com he is applying his experience and expertise to help smaller companies and individual site owners.

“Small companies, organizations, groups and individuals can attract an enormous amount of search engine traffic to their websites, but only if they get into the usage of publishing calibre content on a regular basis. And that content had superior be interesting, useful, engaging, and optimized for the search engines.”

Web Content Café is a membership site with the option to select either a monthly or annual subscription.

With a new content intent published daily, five days a week, the site’s purpose is to tap content writers on the shoulder and say, “Hey, don’t forget to write some new content today. And here is an intent to get you started.”
