here / there is a series of physical nodes used to reconfigure movement in public spaces.

keywords: link, select your own adventure, yahoo, on the road, digg, illustrator, gps, google earth, traffic country & crowd control, del.icio.us

Public Interaction Objects (PIO) is a series of low-tech participatory objects. They are physical interfaces engineered to create meaningful interaction with individuals in various public contexts. Each goal is a composite of various influences. PIO influences include historical and mythological narratives, cultural customs, market economies, and lifestyle, entertainment and commercial technologies.

These objects are designed to finally promote curiosity and participation for those that come in contact with them. PIOs also challenge our all too prevalent responses of suspicion and alarm that many foreign objects create. In current years, our governments have decreed freedom-limiting legislation and in many public contexts – a heighten militarization. There are fear-laden messages channeled regular throughout the media as well. We have been indoctrinated to report these things rather than curiously explore them ourselves.

FS recognizes that we live in world that requires a basic sense of courage and trust in the people and objects that we share our spaces with in order to be free and active. It is also acknowledged that this trust has been horrifically exploited. We do not want to minimize the reality of these tragedies, nor do we condone these acts of aggression. Conversely, we do not want to surrender our freedom to explore, examine, create, share, confront, protest, and disseminate both ideas and objects in our shared public realm.

365 Project Day 45: Inanimate Emotion – Groggy
choosing keywords
Is Groggy an emotion or a say of being? Well, that’s why I didn’t select sleep-deprived as the keyword. It has been a long day for Darth Tater

Theme: Inanimate Emotion
My goal in this portion of my project is to have inanimate objects convey an emotion. I think family portraits would be cool if they included creative images of a family’s favorite toys/possessions.

Project: 365 Project
My goal is to shoot a picture apiece day for a whole year. I felt that my efforts were starting to get aimless, so I decided to begin using a more analytical approach to improve my craft.

Challenges:
I am actually starting to run out of ideas. Either my mind isn’t coming up with emotions, or I am having difficulties trying to express them with inanimate objects. Granted, this week I have been using primarily Darth Tater, but there is nothing in my guidelines that would forbid the use of a different inanimate object.

Disappointments:
That I feel how Darth Tater looks. I should have gone to sleep much earlier.

Successes:
The light falling on Darth Tater looks like it could be primeval morning light, even though it was taken in the late afternoon. Using the helmet to fog part of the grappling adds a nice touch.

How Come When You Mix Blue & Yellow With Hex-Codes, You Get Gray & Not Green?

Question by dawnofrabbits: How Come When You Mix Blue & Yellow With Hex-Codes, You Get Gray & Not Green?
I have always thought when the colors of Blue & Yellow are mixed, that you would get Green. . . . & yet, when blended together on a Hex-Color Program which combines colors, Blue + Yellow come out Gray. Is there another type of “online” program that mixes colors with more typical or traditional results, where Blue + Yellow will come out Green? An E-link would be great. Thank All who respond to the question here.

Best answer:

Answer by TzodEarf
Note the hex code of blue and yellow in their purest form. Then find the code for green in its purest or most basic form. Now mathmatically add blue and yellow to see if you get the same value for green. Compare this result to the value you get when first blended blue and yellow. The point is, is to determine the algorithm your software use to mix colors to see if it is leading to unexpected results. Experiment with blue-red and yellow-red combinations too.
