How can I locate a product serial # stored on my computer?

Question by madgone82: How can I locate a product serial # stored on my computer?
I have had to do this once before, so I know it is possible, I just don’t remember what I have to run to bring the information up. I have a cd with website design software on it. When I got a new personal I place the software on but had to go into my old organisation to get the saved serial number I typed in whne I first registered the product. Now I need to do this again. Please help

  1. Most manufactures of software have the serial number of their product on the CD or the CD cover. If you are using the software on your machine already then you should be able to open the software go to help and many manufactures provide the serial number in info.

  2. If you have found the serial number before, it could be in the Registry. If that is the case, goto Start>Run, and in the dropdown box, enter regedit and click ok. One should go into the registry. Select Edit in the menu bar and use Find to find the software name in the registry. examine the folders found to see if you can locate the serial number.
